Softening Hearts Reminders

On the authority of Abu Dharr Jundub ibn Junadah, and Abu Abdur-Rahman Muadh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Have taqwa (fear) of Allah wherever you may be, and follow up a bad deed with a good deed which will wipe it out, and behave well towards the people." It was related by at-Tirmidhi who said it is a hasan (good) hadeeth. In some copies, it is stated to be a hasan (good) saheeh (authentic) hadeeth.

On the authority of an-Nu’man ibn Basheer (may Allah be pleased with him), who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, 'That which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters [eventually] falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah’s sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh, which, if it be whole, all the body is whole, and which, if it is diseased, all of [the body] is diseased. Truly, it is the heart.'" [Bukhari & Muslim]

It is narrated on the authority of Amirul Mu'minin, Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, 'Actions are (judged) by motives (niyyah), so each man will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration (hijrah) was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to that for which he migrated.'" (Bukhari & Muslim)
