Wiping over Socks

A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjid (may Allah preserve him) gives an answer to the following question: If I remember while I am in prayer that the period of wiping over the slippers has passed, what should I do? Do I get out of prayer? And if I put the socks under the slippers for a state of purification, then took off the slippers, and stayed in the socks, does my ablution invalidate my ablution or did I become in a state of purity?
