There is no doubt that a Muslim is required to keep performing good deeds and purifying his soul. Therefore, acts of worship and good deeds were ordained. The more good deeds a servant performs, the more his soul will be purified and vice versa. Thus, those performing good deeds are pure-hearted and righteous while those committing sins are hard-hearted and corrupted. Fasting is one of the acts of worship that purifies and cures the heart of its diseases. The month of Ramadan is a season for reckoning one's deeds. Its days are purification for the heart. Hence, a fasting one comes out of Ramadan with a new heart and state. Fasting the six days of Shawwal is one of the valuable opportunities as a fasting one performs another good deed after fasting Ramadan. This article explains some virtues of fasting the six days of Shawwal.
