The Book Of Prayer: Salaat (Prayer) is one of the main obligations which Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) has ordained on His servants. It is the first act of worship decreed on the Muslim Nation (Ummah) by Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and was ordained on the night of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) ascension to the seven heavens. It is the second of the five pillars of Islam after the proclamation of the “Shahada” (the words of witness).

Thus this book would, Allah Willing, gather whatever is relevant to each topic from the various contents of the books of Hadith and the books on the differences between the Madhhabs, such that the correct verdicts found in this book would not be found totally in any one Madhhab. Hence the one acting on it, Allah Willing, would be among those whom Allah had guided "by His Grace to the Truth concerning that in which they differed, for Allah guides whom He will to a path that is straight."

Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjid (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question: We are a group of students studying in Britain, and we finish our classes just before the calling of Maghrib prayer and wait in the college until the time for prayer, then we pray Maghrib in congregation, then each of us goes to where he is living, and when the time for ‘Isha’ prayer comes, each one of us prays alone. Can we pray Maghrib and ‘Isha’ in congregation in the college so that we can attain the virtue of praying in congregation, and we can all help one another to keep praying regularly, or not?
