Introducing Islam to Muslims

A book in Arabic contains some wise sayings, nice words, wonderful life lessons, and noble benefits written by Imam Ibn Al-Qayyem (may Allah have mercy upon him).

This work is an abridgement of the author’s The Life, Teachings and Influence of Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhaab. Being an abridgement, many details were deleted and lengthy discussions were cut short, however, the bulk of the topics touched upon in the original work are also discussed here. (Only the review of English literature concerning Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhaab has been completely removed for this abridgement.)

Due to the importance of showing the position attained by the people of the household of the Prophet Muhammad  (Ahl Al-Bait) in the sight of the companions of the Prophet (The Sahabah) and those who followed them in goodness, the author delivered this lecture on this topic 16 years ago at the conference hall of the Islamic University of Medina. And now he have seen the need of generalizing the benefit by writing a brief note on this topic. he named it: THE VIRTUE OF AHL AL-BAIT (The people of the household of the Prophet Mohammad ) AND THE HIGH POSITION THEY ATTAINED IN THE SIGHT OF AHL AS-SUNNAH WAL JAMA’AH This topic is made up of 10 chapters: Chapter one: Who are Ahl Al-Bait? Chapter two: An outline of the faith of Ahl Al-Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah towards Ahl Al-Bait. Chapter three: The virtues of Ahl Al-Bait in the Holy Qur’an Chapter four: The virtues of Ahl Al-Bait in the pure Sunnah of the Prophet  Chapter five: The high status of Ahl Al-Bait in the sight of the Sahabah (companions of the Prophet ) and their followers in goodness. Chapter six: Praises of some Scholars on a group of Sahabah from Ahl Al-Bait Chapter seven: Praises of some Scholars on a group of female Sahabah from Ahl Al-Bait Chapter eight: Praises of some Scholars on a group of Tabi’ins and others from Ahl Al-Bait. Chapter nine: A comparison between the faith of Ahl As-Sunnah and others towards Ahl Al-Bait. Chapter ten: The prohibition of false affiliation (claiming to be related falsely) to Ahl Al-Bait.

Human Rights in Islam and Common Misconceptions: In this booklet the author address human rights in the light of perfectly balanced system of laws and principles of Islam. These rights are bases on revelations from the Divine Book of Muslims, the Glorious Qur’an and from the Sunnah, the practice of Allah’s Messenger -pbuh- the two main sources of Islamic life and jurisprudence.

This book talks about: Life in the grave and the Spirit, then the signs of the hour, and Description of Paradise and fire and its inhabitants on the Day of Resurrection.

this book about the prophet of Islam Muhammad (peace be upon him). It provides a broad biography and summarized information about Muhammad such as his character and personal details. In addition, it provides a broad overview about his teachings and main events in his life.

This book shows rulings of fasting in addition to its merits and invalidators. He also mentions goals behind fasting and attributes which those fasting should be keen on. He illustrates conditions of fasting and its rulings in some exceptional circumstances as in traveling and illness. He indicates to Battle of Badr took place in Ramadan. He clarifies some acts of worship in Ramadan such as I’tikaf (seclusion in the masjed) and Zakaatul-Fitr (obligatory charity after Ramadan).

A book in Pashto shows the creed of the four Imams: Abu Hanifa, Malek, Shafeai, and Ahmad ibn Hanbal, which is in harmony with the Quran and the Sunnah, without any difference between them about any aspect of the Islamic belief.

A book translated into Luganda confirms that steadfastness in Islam is a basic requirement for every sincere Muslim who wants to follow the straight path with determination and understanding. As a matter of fact, the current societies in which Muslims live, types of temptation they painfully face, and whims, desires, doubts, and confusion from which they are suffering made Islam something strange. As a result, those adhering to Islam are like those adhering to a burning coal.

It tries to mentions its virtues through the Quranic verses and Prophetic Sunnah such as remembering Allah has no limit. It also mentions the prestige of those keep these Islamic rite, confirms that there is a strong connection between remembrance and worship, and mentions some supplication meanings.

Contemplation is the key to the light of guidance, the starting point of certitude and the source of knowledge and understanding. A wise scholar once said, "Make your heart live by admonishments and enlighten it through contemplation." Many people know the virtue of contemplation but are unaware of its reality and fruits. However, few are those who actually contemplate. Allah Says, "And how many a sign within the heavens and earth do they pass over while they, there from, are turning away. And most of them believe not in Allah except while they associate others with Him."

In this book, Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed explains the forty Prophetic hadiths compiled in a book by Imam Nawawi. Each hadith in this book represents a great rule of Islam. Muslims have to take care of studying these hadiths to know Islam more.

Contentment is a great action of the heart, and is one of the chief and most important actions of the heart. Abu Ad-Dardaa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “There are four peaks of faith: patience in command, contentment with destiny, sincere reliance on Allaah, and submission to the Lord.”

In this book, Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed tries to discuss the issue of participating in non-Muslim religious celebrations. He shows the correct answer about that based on the Quranic and Prophetic texts.

Since faith consists of two halves, the first being thankfulness, and the other being patience, it is important for the person who admonishes their soul, wishes to safeguard it, and prefers its happiness, not to neglect these two great principles, turn away from these two treaded paths, and to make their path and journey to Allah between these two paths, so that Allah, the Exalted, places them, upon their meeting, in the better of the two parties.

Muslim scholars have paid great attention to the deeds of the heart, authored many books on this topic, explained the importance of this issue to people and encouraged them to be mindful of it and develop themselves in this field. This is because the salvation of humankind (after the mercy of Allaah) is achieved through having a sound and sincere heart.

Reliance on Allah, the Exalted, is a lofty station that has a great effect. It is one of the most important obligations of faith, one of the best actions and acts of worship that bring one closer to Ar-Rahman (the Possessor of Mercy), and one of the highest stations of belief in Allah, the Exalted, because everything occurs through reliance on Allah, the Exalted, and seeking His Help.

Piety is a great virtue that bears a lofty status. It sustains life, which becomes unbearable in its absence; in fact, a life void of piety is inferior even to the life of an animal. There is no righteousness and wellbeing for a slave without piety. It is a noble treasure whose possessor is awarded many honorable gems, abundant goodness, noble sustenance, great victories and kingdoms. It is as if the best rewards of both this life and the next have been assigned to this single characteristic!
