A fatwa in English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, “I would like to know the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding Eid prayers.”

I was speaking to my neighbors who follow the Shi’i madhhab, and they recited to me a verse of Quran which says that fasting is from the time of the white thread until night, and it is not until sunset only. This is what they said to me. I hope that you can advise me, may Allah reward you with the best of rewards.”

Is his fast valid?”

Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, “There are available in the marketplace some creams and lotions which are put on the lips with the aim of increasing their size as a kind of adornment on special occasions. These lotions have a temporary effect, i.e. they make the lips larger for a period of one or two hours, after which they return to their normal state. Is it permissible to use this lotion? Is it regarded as changing the creation of Allah or can it be compared to the colored contact lenses that are used for adornment?”

Many years have gone by and I want to make up the fasts that I owe, but I do not know how many days I have to make up. What should I do?"

A fatwa in English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, “Is it permissible to fast after halfway through Shabaan? Because I heard that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade fasting after halfway through Shabaan.”

Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, “Is it permissible, even after finding out that a hadith is weak, to follow it, by way of doing righteous deeds? The hadith says, “When it is halfway through Shabaan, spend that night in prayer and fast on that day.” The fast is observed as a voluntary act of devotion to Allah, as is spending that night in prayer (qiyaam al-layl).”

Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, “I have a question which I am shy to ask but another sister who has come to Islam recently wants an answer to and I do not have an answer (with proofs from the Quran and Sunnah). I hope you can help and I hope Allah will forgive me if it is inappropriate but as Muslims we should never be shy in seeking knowledge. Her question was "Is it permissible in Islam to masturbate?" May Allah increase us all in knowledge!”
