This is a questioned answered by the Permanent Committee regarding, On the night of the thirtieth of Sha’ban we went out to sight the crescent, but the weather was cloudy so we could not see it. Should we fast the thirtieth day of Sha’baan, because it is a day concerning which there is some doubt?

A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed answers the following question, "What is the ruling on the fast of a person, who takes a bath during the day in Ramadan using hot water, then the steam from that water is in his bathroom and he cannot help inhaling it? A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed answers the following question, "I have been married for approximately two and a half years but my husband does not become intimate with me except every three or five months approximately. He always gives excuses such as sickness or being bewitched or lack of financial stability. He does not show me any affection at all. Every time I speak frankly to him about the matter, he comes up with ready-made excuses. Please note that he does not suffer from any physical problems, as he says, and he refuses to go to the doctor. In the end, I told his family about the matter and they spoke to him, but it was of no benefit. He is putting pressure on me to seek treatment in order to become pregnant and I do not know how it can happen. I am fed up and I do not know what to do. If my family finds out about my situation, this will definitely result in divorce. Please note that we have been to a number of religious shaykhs, all of whom confirmed that the evil eye is involved, but nothing has helped us. To be frank, I am afraid that I may fall into immoral actions. I hope that you can explain to me what I have to do, and in the case of divorce, what are my rights?"

Mufti : Muhammad Salih Reviewing : Muhammad Abdurraouf
A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed answers the following question, "As a recent revert to Islam I am always trying to gain extra knowledge and guidance, inshallah. My question relates to my current job. I work as a home carer, taking care of the needs of a severely handicapped person, who suffered brain damage during birth. This person is 42yrs old, although his brain activity and mental capabilities are that of a baby, he has no control what so ever over his body and is unable to do anything for himself i.e. he cannot wash dress or feed himself and wears pads for toileting, he is also unable to walk or talk at all and is confined to a wheel chair. I've already been told I am able to work with this person but now I’m wondering whether being in close contact with this person will break my wudoo, as I have to touch him on a daily basis."

A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed answers the following question, "I am now sixteen. When I was fourteen I had some bad friends and I used to spend most of my time with them. I used to go out with them during the day in Ramadan, and I used to break the fast and eat food and smoke cigarettes, etc. I also used to do the secret habit. I do not remember how many days I broke the first, as it never occurred to me that I would have to make them up. I also did not know that the secret habit is haraam. What should I do now? Can you give me any advice? Can observing naafil fasts take the place of making up fasts?"
