Mufti : Muhammad Salih Reviewing : Muhammad Abdurraouf

A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed answers the following question, "I have been married for approximately two and a half years but my husband does not become intimate with me except every three or five months approximately. He always gives excuses such as sickness or being bewitched or lack of financial stability. He does not show me any affection at all. Every time I speak frankly to him about the matter, he comes up with ready-made excuses. Please note that he does not suffer from any physical problems, as he says, and he refuses to go to the doctor. In the end, I told his family about the matter and they spoke to him, but it was of no benefit. He is putting pressure on me to seek treatment in order to become pregnant and I do not know how it can happen. I am fed up and I do not know what to do. If my family finds out about my situation, this will definitely result in divorce. Please note that we have been to a number of religious shaykhs, all of whom confirmed that the evil eye is involved, but nothing has helped us. To be frank, I am afraid that I may fall into immoral actions. I hope that you can explain to me what I have to do, and in the case of divorce, what are my rights?"

A fatwa translated into English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed answers the following question, "As a recent revert to Islam I am always trying to gain extra knowledge and guidance, inshallah. My question relates to my current job. I work as a home carer, taking care of the needs of a severely handicapped person, who suffered brain damage during birth. This person is 42yrs old, although his brain activity and mental capabilities are that of a baby, he has no control what so ever over his body and is unable to do anything for himself i.e. he cannot wash dress or feed himself and wears pads for toileting, he is also unable to walk or talk at all and is confined to a wheel chair. I've already been told I am able to work with this person but now I’m wondering whether being in close contact with this person will break my wudoo, as I have to touch him on a daily basis."

Mufti : Muhammad Salih Reviewing : Osama Emara

A question answered by Shaikh Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid regarding: “I am in a very emotionally difficult situation at the moment and cannot contemplate anything but my death. I cannot think of anything about my future or anything except death but even then I do not want to die now in the hope that Almighty and all merciful Allah grants me mercy for the sin I have committed. The problem is that over the past few months I have grown close to a female. I had no intention to form a sinful relationship at all. The reason I got close to her was to talk her out of the idea of her killing herself. You see she has been suicidal and keeps taking overdose, I tried to talk to her and teach her so she would not do this sin and save her from hellfire. But what happened is slowly things went wrong and a wrong relationship formed... we never had sex and I never had any intention to have sex. She is married. But the problem that has happened is that she claims that on occasion I entered her. I do not believe this because I did not take my clothes off but she was partially nude. I am in fear that even if I didn’t enter her, I may have done a sin. But if I did, then I fear I am doomed. I do not believe her because I have found that she does not have good intentions and she may have tried the excuse if being suicidal just to get close to me... I am very disturbed now and cannot sleep or do anything. I regret what has happened and pray to Allah for forgiveness. All I wanted to do was to save someone from hell and now I may have destroyed my own self.”

A question answered by Shaikh Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid regarding: "I divorced my wife irrevocably but I want to take her back. I know that tahleel marriage (i.e., marriage to another man in order to get divorced from him so that she can go back to her first husband) is haraam, and that in order for me to marry her again, she has to marry another person in a genuine marriage, not one that is a trick in order to make it permissible for me to marry her. All of these things will take time. Is there any other, shorter way for me to take her back?"

A fatwa in English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, "I have a problem with my husband i.e. I know that I am supposed to go to him when he calls me to his room, even if I'm not in the appropriate mood. I also know that lying is a despicable thing, but pleasing my husband is utmost thing on my mind. So is it wrong of me to fake having a sexual climax with my husband? This is a terrible problem for me, because I don't want to lie, but it embarrasses my husband if he cannot fulfill my pleasure. This pretending is hard to stop, and also extremely embarrassing for me to admit to my husband. Please help me, and also remember me in your supplication!"

A fatwa in English in which Sh. Muhammad Saleh Al-Munajjed (may Allah preserve him) answers the following question, “There are available in the marketplace some creams and lotions which are put on the lips with the aim of increasing their size as a kind of adornment on special occasions. These lotions have a temporary effect, i.e. they make the lips larger for a period of one or two hours, after which they return to their normal state. Is it permissible to use this lotion? Is it regarded as changing the creation of Allah or can it be compared to the colored contact lenses that are used for adornment?”
